We're building something fundamentally different: an AI-first law firm that reimagines legal services from the ground up. This isn't about adding AI tools to traditional practices—it's about creating an entirely new model where AI and human legal expertise work in seamless collaboration.
This is an opportunity to shape the foundation of a new kind of law firm. You'll work directly with founders who bring both technical and legal backgrounds, moving fast and building products that matter. If you thrive in ambiguity, love building from zero to one, and want real ownership over problems that haven't been solved before, this is your chance to make a defining impact.
As an AI Applied Engineer, you'll be a founding technical team member responsible for building and scaling our AI-powered legal services platform.
This role bridges engineering, product, and legal domain expertise. You'll work closely with our legal co-founder to understand complex legal workflows, translate them into AI-native solutions, and iterate rapidly based on real client feedback. You're not just implementing features—you're inventing new ways of delivering legal services.
- Partner directly with legal professionals to understand workflows, identify automation opportunities, and ensure technical solutions meet real legal needs.
- Build evaluation frameworks for AI outputs, conduct experiments to improve accuracy and reliability, and use data to drive product decisions.
- Design scalable, privacy-focused systems that handle sensitive legal documents, maintain client confidentiality, and meet professional service standards.
- Move quickly from concept to production, building MVPs that test hypotheses and iterating based on legal team input.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with proven ability to ship production products.
- You've built and shipped products where machine learning or AI was a core component (not just an add-on). You understand how to evaluate model performance, iterate on prompts, and balance accuracy with latency.
- You care deeply about the end-user experience and can translate ambiguous requirements into concrete technical solutions.
- You can architect systems that are reliable, secure, and scalable while maintaining velocity.
